Chris "Jesus" Ferguson was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1963. He was playing poker before the age of 10. In college Chris improved his games playing poker for play money in chat rooms. Ferguson currently resides in Pacific Palisades, California.
Chris played poker as a recreation activity prior to 1994, when he decides to become more serious. He is known as the best mathematical player in poker.
Ferguson is a tournament poker specialist. In fact, he only plays in poker tournaments, never participating in high stakes cash games. This has worked out well for Chris considering his 5 WSOP gold bracelets and 2000 Main Event championship. He is bound to collect many more gold bracelets before his poker career is over.
Ferguson's tournament success is due to his superior mathematical skills and implementing game theory into his play. His father teaches game theory at UCLA.
In 2005, Chris finished runner up to Phil Hellmuth at the National Heads-Up Poker Championship. The very next year he duplicated this performance, this time finishing 2nd to Ted Forrest.
Outside of poker, Chris holds a Ph.D. in computer science. He also enjoys ballroom dancing, and is a master at card tricks. Ferguson has been featured on T.V. throwing playing cards into fruits and vegetables, cutting then into pieces.
Ferguson plays online poker at Full Tilt Poker, where he is an officially sponsored pro. You can play and chat with Chris, finding him under the screen name "Chris Ferguson"
