"Action" Dan Harrington

Dan Harrington was born in 1945 in Massachusetts. He attended and graduated from Suffolk University. While attending Suffolk, he was a part dan harringtonof a MIT roulette team, he used a mathematical formula to gain a significant edge on regular roulette odds. When this team split up he also joined a similiar MIT team specializing in blackjack.

Dan is talented in many areas other than poker. He is a former champion backgammon player as well as a chess master. He is also a very successful business man. He owns his on business, a loan company called Anchor Loans. He also invests in the stock market and real estate.

Harrington is one of the most successful players in the history of the World Series of Poker. He won the WSOP Main Event in 1995. His most remarkable WSOP accomplishments came in '03-'04. He made both of these final tables in back to back years. These tournaments had record player fields, over 800 in '03 and over 2,500 in '04. Some consider this to be the biggest feat in WSOP history.

Outside of the poker room, dan has wrote 3 books on tournament poker. He will also be starring in a upcoming T.V. series about poker strategy with fellow poker pro John Juanda.

Dan is known for his tight style of play and his trademark Red Sox baseball cap. This tight and aggressive style of play has won him over $5 million in tournaments, and has shown critics of this playing style that it can still be very successful.
