Howard "The Professor" Lederer

Howard "The Professor" Lederer was born in Concord, New Hampshire, in 1964.  In his you he was a skilled chess player.  Howard attended Columbia University, discovering poker and eventually played at the famous Mayfair Club, amongst other soon to be pros Erik Seidel and Dan Harrington.  In the early 90's Lederer moved to Las Vegas, playing in high stakes cash games.

Howard's sister is fellow poker pro Annie Duke.  Howard mentored Duke beginning in the late 80's.  In 1994, the siblings made history at the World Series of Poker as the first brother and sister to make it to the same final table.  Duke is considered one of the top professional poker players in the world, and this is partly to Lederer's credit.

Howard is both a successful high stakes cash game and tournament player.  He plays in "the big game" at the Bellagio, which is the highest of stakes game available.

Lederer's tournament success includes 2 gold bracelets, and an appearance at the final table of the WSOP Main Event.  His World Poker Tour success is often overlooked.  Howard has made a total of 9 WPT final tables, remarkably finishing in 1st 5 out of those 9 attempts.
