Scotty "The Prince of Poker" Nguyen

Scotty Nguyen was born in 1962 in Vietnam. He came to the U.S. at the age of 14. He would be expelled from school from spending too much scotty nguyentime at back-room poker tables. Scotty would take a job at a casino in Southern California as a poker dealer.

While dealing poker, Scotty also improved him game. Each time he dealed, he watched winners and losers, and made mental notes about the most successful players and how they played at the tables. Soon Nguyen found himself to be the best player at any table he dealed or played at.

After nearly making final tables in Limit Hold'em events at the WSOP in 1996-97, Nguyen won his first bracelet in 1997 at a Limit Omaha Hi-Lo event. The very next year he would become World Series of Poker Main Event champion, collecting his 2nd bracelet and $1 million.

He competed again Kevin Mcbride during heads-up play at the '98 Main Event. During the final hand a full house was on the board, but Scotty held a better full house with one of his hole cards. While Kevin Mcbride was decided whether he should call Nguyen's all-in, Scotty is known for his famous quote: "You call, gonna be all over baby!" Mcbride eventually would call, and Scotty won the title.

Outside of the poker tables, Nguyen has made numerous T.V. appearances. He has been on late night talk shows, and has appeared on the Ultimate Blackjack Tour and Elimination Blackjack. In 2003, he co-starred in a poker related movie, "The Big Blind"

In 2001, Scotty won his final bracelet to date in another Limit Omaha Hi-Lo event. He is known as much for his WSOP bracelets and success as for his cool demeanor at the tables. He is always relaxed and having a great time, whether he is the chip leader or short stack. Nguyen's tournament success speaks for itself, having won 4 WSOP bracelets and over $7 million in his career!

Scotty Nguyen plays online poker at PokerStars, under the screen name "Noo limit".
