Todd "Darkhorse" Brunson

Todd Brunson was born in 1969 in Texas. He is the son of legendary poker pro Doyle Brunson. He currently resides in Las Vegas.todd brunson

Suprisingly, Todd did not begin playing poker until after he graduated from high school. He was on a trip to Australia with his father Doyle who was playing in a tournament. It was not until he went off to college that Todd began to get more seriously into poker. He eventually decided to drop out of college and turn pro.

Brunson won his first major tournament at the Bicycle Casino when he was 21 years old. In 2005, he won his first WSOP bracelet at a Omaha Hi-Lo Split event. In addition to these tournament wins, Todd has made over 10 World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour final tables in his young poker career.

His tournament success is even more impressive considering he prefers high stakes cash games and spends most of his time at the tables in these rather than tournament play. Brunson regularly plays in high stakes cash games in Las Vegas, including the largest of them all, known as "The Big Game". Millions are at stake not on a nightly basis, but on an individual hand basis!

While playing in one particular heads up high stakes cash game, Todd won over $13.5 million over a two day period playing $50,000-$100,000 Limit Hold'em! Todd has contributed to multiple poker strategy books, including a chapter in Daniel Negreau's book, and the Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo section of the famous sequel to Doyle's Super System, The Super System II.

Todd Brunson plays online poker at his fathers online poker room, Doyles Room.

More recently, Brunson has spent a considerable amount of time in the T.V. spotlight. Todd has made appearances on Poker Superstars Invitational, The Ultimate Poker Challenge, and has been a regular player on the Game Show Network's High Stakes Poker.
